Since 1947, IGPA has maintained a deep connection with state government, including playing a role in the 1969-1970 state constitutional convention.

COVID-19 Task Force

IGPA assembled more than four dozen interdisciplinary experts across the University of Illinois System to assess COVID-19’s effects on the state. Members of the task force stand ready to consult with state and local officials and provide any information they can to assist.

Since its creation in 1947 by the Illinois General Assembly and a resolution of the University of Illinois Board of Trustees, the Institute of Government and Public Affairs has been the place where objective, world-class research and public policy meet.
